First of all, how did you first start doing track?

I started doing track in 6th grade because one of my sisters did it, and a couple of my friends were also joining.

What are all your personal records?

My personal bests are 15.50 in the 100 meter hurdles and 43.84 in the 300 meter hurdles.

Do you do, or have you done, any other sports?

I always try to stay pretty active throughout the year! Freshman and sophomore year winter seasons I played basketball, and then switched to weight lifting junior and senior year. I've played volleyball and ran track all four years of high school.

Do you do power lifting or normal training-type lifts?

I do power lifting; squats, cleans, bench, circuits, etc. I do it every day after school just to get a little stronger in the preparation for track.

Was is your favorite or most memorable race you have ever run?

My favorite race so far was for sure the state finals meet last year (2016). It was one of the most competitive races I've ever ran in, and it pushed me to beat my own PR, as well as my school record.

Girls hurdling in Minnesota has gotten incredibly competitive and fast the past several years compared to before. What has it been like to be a part such a competitive field of hurdlers?

It is a fun time to be going against such great competition. The fact that all these girls are bringing their very best forces me to stay in check and never slack off. It's an honor to be running with some of the best athletes Minnesota has seen because it continues to push me while running my own race.

Who are some of your favorite athletes to compete against?

My favorite athletes to compete against are the ones I already know. Running against friends from other schools is great because you both want to win, but whatever the outcome is you will both be happy for each other. My favorite competitor to run against is Samantha Jacobson because she is so sweet and fun to mess around with, and no matter what happens we are both happy for the other. Also we've been running with each other since 8th grade.

What are your main goals for this upcoming season?

My main goal for the upcoming season is to always try my hardest. Whether it's in practice, or in a meet, or during warm ups. I want to set a good example for my team.

Do you have any college plans?

I am still deciding between a few schools, but I know for a fact I will be running track. Most likely hurdling will be my event in college, but I am open to whatever comes my way, and what my coach thinks is best for me.

What schools are you deciding between?

As of right now, I am deciding between Winona State and University of North Dakota.

Do you have any rituals or superstitions either on or off the track?

Both my hurdle coach, and my sister never wore socks with their spikes when they raced. It has now become a habit, and a belief of mine that I run faster sock-less with spikes.

When not on the track, what might we find you doing?

I like to be outdoors and go hiking, long boarding, camping, swimming, 4 wheeling, and and pick up game. But I also love to just relax, spend time with friends and family, and watch movies.

Tell me one interesting fact about yourself.

I won homecoming queen this year.
