First of all, how did you first start running?

I was invited to run a race when I was about 8 years old and I have loved it ever sense.

How long was that race and how did it go?

The race was a 5k and it didn't go well. I didn't train or anything. I ended up walking a few time and it did not feel good.

What are all your personal records, including cross country?

400m - 52.48

800m - 1:56.70

1600m - 4:22.22

3200m - 10:10.84

5k - 16:18

Do you do, or have you done, any sports other than track and cross country?

I also played basketball until 8th grade.

What is your favorite or most memorable race you have ever run?

My most memorable race is last year's State 1600m run. Coming into the race my coaches and I talked and we decided that I was not going to lead the race and just stay close until the last lap. The plan worked perfectly.

Who are some of your favorite athletes to compete against (other than your own teammates)?

My favorite athlete to compete against is Keiser Freetly from LQPV. Both on and off the track he's a really great guy! Outside of track and field, we hangout and talk a good amount. We have some plans to go on a run sometime soon.

You have the fastest times of any returning Class A runners from last year in both the 1600 and 800. Are you going to try for the 800/1600 double for State again this year, or are you going to focus on one or the other.

I believe I will run both the 800m and the 1600m.

What are your main goals for this upcoming season?

I won't get in to specifics but I guess I just want to run faster than last year.

Do you have any college plans?

I am unsure of where I am attending. But plan to run both cross country and track.

What are some of the colleges in the running?

Drake University, South Dakota State, and MSU-Moorhead.

Do you have any rituals or superstitions either on or off the track?

I have to get off the bus last. I also listen to rock music before I race. I love keeping the team alive and I try to keep it fun even in the biggest races. I like to play games on my phone and get my mind off of everything else.

Who are your favorite musical artists to listen to pre-race?

KISS, Guns N' Roses, Alice Cooper, and Motley Crue.

Is there any specific reason you need to be the last one to leave the bus?

Aside from needing more time to get ready I really don't have a reason for it. I just like being off last I guess.

When not running miles or turning left, what might we find you doing?

Golf, disc golf, ultimate Frisbee, hockey, going to rock concerts, life guarding at the outdoor pool.

Do you have any favorite disc golf courses?

In the summer time my friends and I make several trips around Minnesota to play disc golf. My favorite course is Blue Ribbon Pines in East Bethel, MN.

Tell me one bizarre fact about yourself.

This past summer I took pilot training with my best friend and became a licensed pilot.
