The stage is set in the competition for individual glory in girls Class A cross country to be one of the most exciting yet. Last year's State champ and runner-up are both back, but we're also welcoming back a familiar face who's not only a favorite for the State title, but also has a legitimate chance of winning a national championship. Of last season's top 14, there are 7 that have moved on and one who will unfortunately have to miss the season due to injury, creating open places for plenty of ambitious runners to snag. Arguably the biggest storyline for this season will be the performance of one of the deepest classes in Minnesota Class A history, and how they'll continue to improve. And shockingly, none of the ten athletes on this list are seniors, creating an insane depth of competition that Minnesota distance running fans will get to experience not only this year, but for the next few seasons.
