The Top 7 Girls Teams At NXR Heartland

Sun Prairie (WI)

It's no secret Minnesota teams have historically dominated the heartland region -- the last time a non-Minnesota school claimed a bid on the girls side was Neenah High School in 2011. But Flo50 No. 16 Sun Prairie has an excellent chance at breaking that streak.

Led by possibly the best one-two duo of Katie Rose Blachowicz and Autumn Dushack, Sun Prairie is another team that really wasn't on the national radar until their fourth-place finish at the Roy Griak Invitational, only coming behind three Flo50 top 10 teams -- and one of the teams they defeated was, No. 25 Edina.

They ended up going undefeated against Wisconsin competition and took home the Division 1 championship over runner up, Muskego, who will not be competing at the Heartland Region. They've built a strong enough reputation nationally that even if they finish third, they could have a chance at claiming a wild card spot.
