Senungi named MIAC Athlete of Week

MIAC WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College women's track and field hurdler Caroline Senungi (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

Senungi opened the indoor track and field season with a win in the 55-meter hurdles at the St. Thomas Invitational on Friday evening with a personal-best 8.79-second effort, bettering her previous best of 8.86 seconds set last year.

Her time is currently tops among MIAC women's track athletes in the 55-meter hurdles. The NCAA Division III national championship provisional qualifying time in the event is 8.55 seconds. The MIAC Athlete of the Week honor is the first of her career.

Augsburg returns to action this Saturday (1/29) at the Wisconsin-Stout Warren Bowlus Invitational in Menomonie, Wis.
