Senungi, Telphia lead Augsburg at Carleton Invite

MEET RESULTS

NORTHFIELD, Minn.-- Caroline Senungi (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) and Shanek Telphia (SO, Chicago, Ill./Gage Park HS) claimed top honors in the 55-meter hurdles and the 55-meter dash to lead the Augsburg College women's track and field team to a fifth-place finish at the Carleton College Meet of Hearts on Saturday afternoon.
 
Senungi added another first-place finish to her 2011 indoor season resume, recording a time of 9.14 seconds. Senungi has finished first in three out of the four meets she has competed in this season, and currently holds the third-fastest 55-meter hurdle time in the MIAC this season.
 
Telphia continued her domination of the 55 meter dash, recording a time of 7.60 seconds enroute to winning the event for the second consecutive weekend. The reigning MIAC Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, Telphia currently owns the fourth-fastest 55-meter dash time in the MIAC this season.

Sprinter Katie Vrieze (SR, Richfield, Minn.) recorded a second-place finish in the 55-meter dash, finishing with a time of 7.68 seconds. 

Dawn Flowers (FY, Saint Paul, Minn./Arlington Senior HS) finished third in the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 27.98 in the race.

Middle distance runner Adrienne Young (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./St Anthony Village HS) recorded a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter dash, finishing with a time of 1:07.49, while teammate Jennifer Pulscher (JR, Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty HS) also recorded a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run. Pulscher's time marked her best performance in the 800 this season.

The Auggies return to action on Saturday (2/19) at the University of Minnesota Parents Day Open in Minneapolis.
