MEET RESULTS

LA CROSSE, Wis.-- The Augsburg College women's 400-meter relay team of Kandace Bostick (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Burnsville HS), Ashley Carney (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS), Katie Vrieze (SR, Richfield, Minn.) and Shanek Telphia (SO, Chicago, Ill./Gage Park HS) recorded a seventh-place finish at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse Last Chance Qualifier on Thursday evening. No team results were recorded at the meet.

The Augsburg relay team, fresh off a first-place finish at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, recorded a time of 48.88 seconds at the Last Chance Qualifier. According to the directathletics.com website, the Auggie relay's season-best time of 48.24 seconds currently ranks as the 28th fastest time among NCAA Division III teams this season. During the 2010 outdoor season, the top 27 teams qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Carney and Vrieze also competed in the 200-meter dash at the Last Chance Qualifier. Carney recorded a season-best time of 26.26 seconds in the race to finish 14th, while Vrieze finished in 15th place with a time of 26.33 seconds.

Telphia, who may also qualify in the 200 and 400, and the relay squad will find out Sunday if they move on to compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University in Deleware, Ohio May 26-28. Telphia currently ranks 19th in the 200-meter dash (25.04 seconds) and 25th in the 400-meter dash (57.02 seconds).
