MIAC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD AWARDS

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the NCAA recently released the postseason award winners from the 2011 men's outdoor track and field season. As a team, Augsburg recorded a finish of eighth or better in the team standings for the fourth-consecutive season.

NCAA National Championship Qualifiers:
Nick Ward (100-meter dash)
Matthew Schafer (800-meter run)

All-MIAC:
Shane Pantila (1st, triple-jump)
400-meter relay team (1st, Gil Millette, Rick Wolke, Joe Arnold, Nick Ward)
Matthew Schafer (2nd, 800-meter run)
Nick Ward (2nd, 100-meter dash)
Rick Wolke (3rd, 200-meter dash)

All-MIAC Honorable-Mention:
Joe Arnold (4th, 400-meter dash)

All-MIAC Sportsmanship Award:
Matthew Schafer
