Auggie women compete at NCAA regional

MEET RESULTS

WAVERLY, Iowa -- Hannah Ehling (FY, Montevideo, Minn.) and Kacie Bahr (SR, Brainerd, Minn.) recorded the top two individual times for the Augsburg College women's cross country team at the NCAA Division III Central Regional, held Saturday afternoon at the Wartburg College Max Cross Country Course.

Ehling recorded a time of 24:53 over the 6,000-meter distance, while Bahr finished a second behind her in 24:54 to lead the Auggies. Bahr has recorded a top-two finish for Augsburg in five of the team's seven races this season, while Ehling has led the Auggies across the finish line in each of the team's last three races.

Haley Diem (JR, Stillwater, Minn.) finished third for Augsburg, recording a time of 25:12, while teammate Anika Clark (SO, Lakeville, Minn./North HS) finished fourth for Augsburg with a time of 26:21. Clark and Diem have finished in the top five for Augsburg in each of the team's races this season.

Shayla Fulford (SO, Perham, Minn.) rounded out the Augsburg top five, as she recorded a time of 26:32. The time marks a season-best for Fulford, and marks her best performance since the NCAA Central Regional race last season. Jennifer Pulscher (SR, Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty HS) and Emily Knudson (FY, Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater HS) recorded times of 26:52 and 28:59 respectively.

A total of 188 runners and 27 teams competed in the regional. The regional marks the final meet of the season for the Augsburg women's cross country team. The Auggies will return a number of key runners in 2012, and will look to continue their climb up the conference and regional standings.
