Shakopee's Hauger gaining national attention
To her parents, friends, and teachers in Shakopee, Maria Hauger is called Bug. It's been like that since the day she was born.
"I didn't have any hair, so my parents just started calling me Bug," Hauger said.
People close to her always have known her as Bug. But anyone who knows her primarily as one of the nation's top high school cross-country runners is more familiar with her real name.
