Cathedral's Eickhoff sets the pace at the Apollo Early Bird Invitational
A jack-in-the-box can cause an infant to be surprised. Some people can be easily startled if someone taps on their shoulder when they are not expecting it.
Rachel Eickhoff was surprised to find herself in the lead pack girls varsity race at the Apollo Early Bird Invitational on Monday at the VA Medical Center.
“I was really shocked,” said Eickhoff, who is ranked 12th among Class A individuals in the state. “I’ve never run out in front. It’s really cool to run with those really fast girls, knowing that they’re all running together and pushing each other.”
