Seven year ago, the Lake Conference changed drastically. With the dissolution of the Classic Lake Conference, Wayzata High School, Edina High School, Hopkins High School, and Minnetonka High School rejoined the conference which they had left in 1993. In response, every team previously in the Lake Conference (except Eden Prairie High School) left to form a new conference, which became the South Suburban. The result (with regard to the sport of cross country) was, from top-to-bottom, quite possibly the best, most competitive high school athletic association in the nation. That year, the location of the Lake Conference Championships shifted to the famous Gale Woods Farm, which was also the home course of the section each of the five teams belonged to, Section 6AA.
This fall will be the eighth running of the Lake Conference Championships since that fall, but those previous seven iterations have witnessed some of the most amazing athletes (such as Wayzata's Connor Olson and Hopkins' Joe Klecker in the above photo) and incredible competitions in the state of Minnesota on a yearly basis. So without further ado, check out the top 2000 performances that have taken place at these championships since 2010!
