She may just be the most successful Minnesota high school distance runner ever. Shakopee's Maria Hauger certainly had great competition every year, but that did not stop her from taking home an unprecedented four consecutive Class AA State Championships in cross country, in addition to four more titles captured in track. In fact, Hauger owns the fastest 4K time ever run by a Minnesota girl in Milesplit's database with 13:35, just a bit faster than her winning section time in 2011. She saw success at the national level too, finishing 3rd at Footlocker Nationals her senior year in 2012. She went on to become the ACC Freshman of the year at the University of Virginia, finishing 63rd at the 2013 NCAA D1 National Championships.
