Lloyd Banks Leads FB Marshall To Third Straight 5A Title

Another year, another title for Fort Bend Marshall. The Missouri City, Texas program continues to add championship trophy after championship trophy to their display case; who knows when this will end.

Head Coach, Lloyd Banks and his staff prepares and plans like none other with the execution from the athletes at the state meet being on par with the staff.

Challengers in every classification come and go, but the mainstay over he past decade or so looks to be the Buffs. This year, Banks' team used two relay wins to go along with a senior taking the win in the 100m and a freshmen adding a runner-up individual performance in the 400m.

The boys 4x100 relay has seen an epic level of production. The amount of 40-point squads was as deep as ever with 24 teams in Texas running in that range. There were only seven schools in American high school track and field history to ever run under sub 40-seconds heading into this season. This year's explosion reached five sub 40-second teams alone.

Fort Bend Marshall became the only school ever to accomplish that feat in three separate seasons.

We caught up with Coach Banks following the UIL 5A state meet.
