The weather was hot and humid and the course for the Estero DDD Invitational wasn't exactly a walk in the park. In the end, Fort Myers senior Emily Edwards and Belen Jesuit senior Fabian Tomas came away with individual honors, while host Estero and Tomas' Belen Jesuit squad were team champions. Al Delago and Coach Alonso of Carrollwood were on-site to provided us with some awesome coverage. Special thanks to Coach Jeff Sommer of Estero as well for a race recap.

Holloway Park Jamboree

Nichols, Brookover, Sarasota Riverview, Top Of The Heap At Holloway Park Jamboree

Holloway Park is one of the nicest cross country courses in the state in my opinion and this weekend they opened it up to the masses. The Holloway Park Jamboree consisted of six races: a boys and girls junior varsity, a boys and girls varsity open, and a varsity elite boys and girls race. Travis Nichols and Hannah Brookover took individual honors while Sarasota Riverview swept the varsity elite team titles. Ean Ormsby and Tom Connors were on-site taking photos for flrunners.

JV Runners Beat The Lightning At Trinity Prep Twilight, Varsity Not So Fortunate

Trinity Prep was hoping that as the sunset and twilight occured, they could rattle off four races to start the cross country season. Well, half of the Trinity Prep Twilight Invitational took place. The boys and girls junior varsity races finished, but then lightning ended the rest of the night. Raul Ramirez and Dean Headley were on-site with photos and videos.
