Prep sports roundup: Tech senior wins at Sauk Rapids
SAUK RAPIDS – St. Cloud Tech senior Cory Rouw won the boys race in a time of 17:21.72 at the Storm Invitational prep cross country meet Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers finished in third place as a team with a score of 44. Rocori won the team title with a score of 36. Sartell was second with a score of 42.
Spartans junior Noah Lahr finished second in a time of 17:44.21. Classmate Will Glisky finished fourth in a time of 18:03.80. Sartell freshman Ryan Ferholz placed third in a time of 18:02.24.
Eden Valley-Watkins/Kimball senior Emily Donnay won the girls race in a time of 15:14.18. Sartell captured the team title with a score of 42. Senior Mackenzie Dockendorf finished third in a time of 15:56.54 to lead the Sabres.

Holdingford Invitational
HOLDINGFORD – The Holdingford boys and girls teams both took first at the Holdingford Invitational. The Huskers’ Andrew Zachman finished first in the boys race with a time of 17:10.94.
Albany’s Kevin Lamb took second (17:31.69) and Royalton’s Zach Carlson finished third (17:33.44).
St. Cloud Cathedral’s Rachel Eickhoff finished first with a time of 16:12.06 in the girls race.

PEQUOT LAKES – Senior Kyle Becker took third to lead the Pierz boys, who took second and placed four runners in the top ten.
The girls were led to a third place finish by Maggie Gruber, who took sixth place overall.

Monticello Invitational
MONTICELLO – Elizabeth Schlafke of Annandale finished fifth overall in a time of 15:56 to lead the Cardinals to a fourth-place finish at the Monticello Invitational.
St. Michael-Albertville swept the boys and girls team titles. St. Cloud Cathedral finished fourth in the boys competition. Eli Stark-Haws led the way with a 16th place finish in a time of 18:03. Andrew Mergen finished eighth overall to lead host Monticello.
Chase Cayo of St. Michael-Albertville won the boys race in a time of 16:20. St. Michael-Albertville’s Rachel King won the girls race in a time of 14:41.

ROCKFORD – Luke Lahr finished third in a time of 17:46 to lead Becker to a second-place finish at the Rockford Invitational. Delano won the team title led by Adam Armbruster, who won the boys race in a time of 16:36.0. Becker’s Jim Novak finished eighth in a time of 18:29.
Becker’s Alli Hendrickson won the girls race in a time of 16:56. Her team finished fourth overall. Spectrum won the girls team title.

LITTLE FALLS – Hattie Scott won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to help Foley sweep Little Falls in a Granite Ridge Conference matchup.
The team of Bethany Rahm and Brittney Henry won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles for the Falcons.

LONG PRAIRIE – Alexa Hoffarth won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles to lead Osakis to the Prairie Conference victory.
Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala/Swanville’s Abby Ecker lost a close match to Osakis’ Hannah Szech 2-6, 6-4, 3-6 at No. 2 singles.
Aitkin 4, Pierz 3
PIERZ – Brittney Boser won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, but Pierz fell to Aitkin in nonconference action.
Shelbie Boser/Kelsey Moulzolf won 7-6, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles for Pierz (0-9).

WILLMAR – Gabi Sawyer won the 100 butterfly (101.87) and the 100 backstroke (104.22) as the Dutchmen dismantled Willmar in a nonconference dual meet.
Melrose’s Savana Bitz recorded a personal best time in the 50 freestyle (26.79).
Sauk Rapids 103, Fergus Falls 74
FERGUS FALLS – Anna Lucas won the 200 (2:12.48) and 500 (5:57.55) freestyle as Sauk Rapids topped Fergus Falls in Central Lakes Conference action.
Larissa Kleen won the 100 butterfly (1:06.19) and 100 backstroke (1:07.89).
Brainerd 109, St. Cloud Tech 77
Megan Seehusen and St. Cloud Tech’s 200 freestyle medley relay teaam posted the only wins for the Tigers in a Central Lakes Conference loss to Brainerd at Tech High School.
Seehusen’s dives scored a 238.15 and the relay team (Yeyama Hanna, Lizzie Schaefer, Jeeho Sohn, Taylor Terfehr) won in 2:02.69.
Rocori 104, St. Cloud Apollo 76
Isabelle Schneider set a school record with a time of 1:11.72 in the 100 breaststroke as Rocori beat St. Cloud Apollo in Central Lakes Conference action at Apollo High School.
Maddy McElwee won the 200 individual medley in a personal best time of 2:28.34.
Montevideo 65, Albany 37
ALBANY – Emily Weiss won three events for Albany in its West Central Conference loss to Montevideo.
Weiss won the 200 freestyle (2:14.91), 500 freestyle (6:09.46) and anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:54.59).
The Huskies fall to 0-3 overall.
