First of all, how did you first start doing track?

I started running track in 7th grade, through our middle school track program.

What are all your personal records?

My personal records: 100m - 11.89, 200m - 24.44, LJ - 19'10 1/2", and TJ - 38' 0"

Do you do, or have you done, any sports other than track?

I have competed on my high school varsity gymnastics team since 7th grade.

What is your favorite or most memorable race you have ever run?

My favorite race memory was when I was competing at the AA State Meet and in the preliminary round of the 100m, I broke 12 seconds for the first time.

Who are some of your favorite athletes to compete against (other than your own teammates)?

I enjoy competing against athletes who challenge me. Jedah Caldwell was a great opponent, and it was always fun to run against her.

What are your main goals for this upcoming season?

This upcoming track season I hope to improve in all of my events, break the state record in the long jump, and along with that break 20 feet.

No high school girl in Minnesota history has ever been able to jump 20 feet. How does it feel to be on the brink of such a monumental accomplishment?

It feels great, I really hope to break 20' this season and hold the all state record in the long jump.

Last year St. Michael's 4x100 was only .07 seconds off the All-Time record set by Washburn in 2004. Do you think you can make a run at that record again this year?

This year I plan to focus on 4 individual events rather than any relays. I will compete in the 100m, 200m, long jump, and triple jump.

Do you have any college plans?

In the fall I will be attending the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a full ride competing on the Track & Field team.

What things drew you to UNC the most (other than, of course, the full-ride scholarship)? And if you know any of the athletes there now, who are you most excited to compete with as teammates?

UNC has great athletics and academics, after I competed in the AAU junior Olympic meet this summer the track and field head coach (Coach Rubin) contacted me and showed an interest. I thought Rubin was a smart coach and I took a visit and I loved the team the warm weather and the amazing campus!

Do you have any rituals or superstitions either on or off the track?

Before track meets I usually roll out with a roller, and work on long jump drills before competing.

When not at the track or trying to set records, what might we find you doing?

When I'm not practicing or competing, I enjoy photography and film making

Have you made a lot of movies? Is that something you might do for a career?

Taking pictures is more of a hobby. I don't think I will make a career out of it.

Tell me one bizarre fact about yourself.

I can do a back flip on the beam.
