Wayzata
Wayzata returns 4 of their top 7 runners from their state championship team last season, including 2nd-place state finisher Khalid Hussein. Wayzata goes into this season not only clearly expecting to be repeat state champions, but to place highly at NXN. It won't be a cakewalk, as they will still need to replace Liban Jama, Gemechu Meskele, and Jeremy Gilbertson, who all were key contributors throughout the season for Wayzata. However, with the incredible depth from their JV team that Wayzata was able to show all throughout last year, it is clear that Wayzata will be favorites to repeat as state champions, and win their 10th state title in program history.
