Huge Day Of Racing Consists Of Twenty Meets

PREVIEW

Location: Piper Hills Golf Course, Elgin

Weather: Mid-50's, rain, possible thunderstorms late

BOYS

Virtual Meet Projection: Plainview-Elgin-Millville (28), Pine Island (53), Saint Charles (66)

Top Individuals: Austin Dawley (Plainview-Elgin-Millville, 16:34), Axel Daood (Saint Charles, 16:36), Samson Hagen (Plainview-Elgin-Milville, 16:47), Tanner Horton (Pine Island, 17:02)

The Skinny: Plainview-Elgin-Millville should take the win at their home meet and prove their twelfth place ranking in Class A. It would be very surprising if they were beat as their top five runners are projected to all finish in the top ten. The individual race is more open with Austin Dawley, Axel Daood, and Samson Hagen the top three that have the potential to win. Dawley had an off race at the Swain Invite where Hagen was able to beat him. However, he has defeated both Hagen and Daood at races earlier in the season.

GIRLS

Virtual Meet Projection: Cotter (23), Plainview-Elgin-Millville (60), Pine Island (67)

Top Individuals: Grace Ping (Cotter, 18:03), Lauren Ping (Cotter, 18:15), Morgan Arnold (Cotter, 18:46), Madilyn Simon (Plainview-Elgin-Millville, 19:50)

The Skinny: The number one team in the state for Class A will be racing for the win today as they are projected to finish with 23 points. They have an incredible group of five runners and it would not be all too surprising if they really did grab the top five places. With the Cotter team comes the Ping sisters and Morgan Arnold. Lauren Ping is ranked second, Grace Ping is ranked third, and Morgan Arnold is ranked sixth in Class A. Their three rankings in the top six speak to the program that Cotter has. Lauren has only beat Grace once this season which was at the Roy Griak Invitational and she only beat her by three seconds. Grace has won all the other races that they have competed in. Arnold most recently placed 21st at the Griak, a race that she was 107th at last year. She also ran her personal best there which shows the improvements that she is making this season being that that is not a fast course.
