Anna Fenske, Farmington, Jr.
Anna Fenske has not finished lower than ninth at the state meet in her four appearances and her 17:31.10 high school PR (she ran 17:00 at NXR as an eighth grader) is the fastest among AA returners. She won a state title as an eighth grader and finished second and third in the last two years. Though there are a dozen or so returners who have beat her head to head, most of those came early last year while Fenske was less than 100 percent. Most recently in the spring, she finished sixth at State in the 1600m, missed making it in the 3200 and she has not set a PR in those two events since 2017. Yet, her consistently strong championship season XC performances, including three top 5's at NXR should make her the favorite in Class AA.
