Another young name to get familiar with is Jane Mosby. She reached state two years ago as an eighth grader with a 56th place finish around 19:21 and then vaulted to 20th last fall with a time nearly a minute faster. Her PR of 18:15.7 came at the crowded section 6AA meet where she was sixth in race full of talented athletes. In the spring Mosby made a splash in her first Track State Meet with a third place 1600m finish in a PR time of 5:03.36. The young runner may be a year away from true XC title aspirations but it would be wise for those who have not already, to begin marking her progress this season.
