The second fastest freshman from last year's XC State Meet is back for a sophomore campaign with a section 4AA XC title and a second set of 1600/3200m state medals (8th/7th in 2019) to her name. In 2018 she posted a 17:52.3 XC PR (6th among returners) and followed that up with a 10:54.04 3200m PR to finish third at the Hamline Elite Meet in the spring. In her XC section title run last year she posted a head to head victory over talented Stillwater no. 1 Ana Weaver and after finishing one spot behind her at state, bettered her again at NXR. In a state that's had a lot of young talent, Moening is an experienced underclassman with a top-10 State XC finish the last two years and looks to be worth watching again this fall.
