The departure of the Ping family and migration of Tierney Wolfgram to class AA will improve the prospects of many girls in class A this fall. None more so than Morgan Gehl. During 2018-19 only those three names appeared above Gehl in an XC or track race held in the state of Minnesota in class A competition. She posted third place State Meet results in the 1600, 3200 and cross country last year. Her respective PRs of 5:02.18, 10:58.17 and 17:43.90 are the top returning times in all three events. She will have challengers but Gehl should be at the top of considerations for XC this fall and her results speak to her potential as Minnesota's fastest junior. She is also one to watch at the Heartland regional as one of the top returners with a real shot at NXN.
