Last fall, Morgan Arnold started the year under-the-radar in a variety of ways, not the least of which because she was teammates of Grace and Lauren Ping. But her breakout race at the Roy Griak Invitational, her fifth-place finish at State close behind the elite sisters, and her top-20 showing at NXR (which produced her best time of 18:10.2, over a minute faster than the year before and the fifth-best returning time in the state) showed that Arnold is certainly a force to be reckoned with. Now as the leader and fastest runner on her team with the Pings moving to Arizona, she has the potential to continue breaking out. Track results have not yet shown the same drastic level of improvement but as the new leader for Cotter you have to keep an eye on Arnold on the grass this fall.
