EASTVIEW (3)
Eastview won the the 3AA section title last season with an impressive four in the top 25 and all seven in the top 30. They must replace two off that team that went on to finish eighth at the state meet but its the pieces that remain which make the Lightning a must watch team this fall. Their top runner, senior AJ Green is among the most exciting distance event athletes in the state after going under 1:50 to win a second state championship and winning the Brooks PR Invite title in the 800m. He came back to XC after several years away to go well under 16 minutes in his final two races of the year, taking eighth individually at state and will be the second fastest class AA returner this fall. Behind Green are three runners who've gone under 17 minutes and a fifth man with a PR just ticks over that barrier. Five of the top ten individuals from 3AA graduated meaning Eastview's already low score could get lower this fall. Their third fastest projected team average in Class AA suggests Eastview matches their preseason coaches ranking and with a national level talent like Green, they have to be in the state title talk, especially if they can get that fifth and sixth man under the 17 minute mark.
