In week seven some teams begin championship season with conference meets while others tuck in their final regular season tune-up or rest their best before the final meets of the season. We'll keep things update here with recaps and more.

Albany Purple Pride Invite

BOYS TEAM CHAMP: ROCORI | INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Grant Mayers, Albany, 17:23.3
RECAP: Rocori powered to the team title with all five scorers in the top 16 with a 52 second split and 18:24 average to edge host and runner-up Albany. Huskie sophomore Grant Mayers did take home the individual title on his home course. Junior Jackson Grant of Little Falls was the individual runner-up. Team champ Rocori was led by third place individual, junior Clark Nelson followed by Little Falls freshman Wyatt Baum. Melrose senior Nicholas Berscheit rounded out the top five individuals.
GIRLS TEAM CHAMP: ROCORI | INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Katelyn Motter, Rocori, 19:11.3
RECAP: Rocori completed the varsity meet sweep with a near perfect score in the girls competition. The Spartans ran 1-2-4-5-6 in the win led by eighth grader Katelyn Motter up front in a new 5k PR of 19:11.3. Sophomore Ava Larsen was second followed by Albany junior Kristine Kalthoff in third place. Rocori eighth grader Paige Larson and freshman Laina Viere rounded out the top five. The Spartans averaged a 19:50 over a 64 second split to better runner-up Albany in the team competition.

BOYS TEAM CHAMP: LAC QUI PARLE VALLEY | INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Noah Stewart, Morris/Chokio-Alberta, 16:32.0
RECAP: Morris Area senior Noah Stewart held off a pack of Lac Qui Parle Valley runners to win the individual title but could not stop LQPV from a strong team victory overall. Stewart ran his second best time of the year in winning back to back races and his third of victory of the year overall. LQPV senior Mikey Kvaal was second followed by junior teammate Ezekiel Sather and senior Griffin Johnson. Yellow Medicine East junior Bertram Munk rounded out the top five. LQPV took six of the top ten individual spots with 17:26 average to defeat runner-up host Benson.
GIRLS TEAM CHAMP: MINNEWASKA | INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Sophia Kluver, Sauk Centre, 21:23.0
RECAP: Minnewaska edged LQPV for the team win with a better team split of 50 seconds that proved the difference in final scoring. Minnewaska trailed LQVP through the first three scoring spots but the final two slots and two displacing runners all game in before the final LQPV scorer. LQPV freshman Anika Fernholz was individual runner-up followed by Morris area sophomore Meredith Carrington in third. LQPV senior Annika Trygestad was fourth with Minnewaska no. 1 junior Sydney Hagen five seconds back in fifth.

Eden Valley-Watkins Invite

BOYS TEAM CHAMP: LITCHFIELD | INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Ben Ammermann, Litchfield, 18:06.7
RECAP: Litchfield grabbed five of the top ten individual spots including winner, senior Ben Ammermann to win the EV-W-K Invite on Monday. Sauk Rapids-Rice, team runner-up, was led junior Jared Bentrud who was individual runner-up. EV-W-K senior Ben Young finished third. Paynesville sophomore Ryan Thomas was fourth followed by Litchfield no. 2 man, senior Tyler Peterson
GIRLS TEAM CHAMP: EDEN VALLEY-WATKINS-KIMBALL | INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Cailyn Kuechle, EV-W-K, 21:41.5
RECAP: EV-W-K put their full seven in the top ten to earn a commanding win in their home Invite. They were led by senior Kailyn Kuechle who was the individual champ. Paynesville junior Natalie Lieser was the individual runner-up. EV-W-K eighth grader Brookelyn Kuechle was third followed by teammates junior Zya Lueders and freshman Katie Ruhland filling out the top five. Litchfield was team runner-up.

St. Paul Washington Invitational

BOYS TEAM CHAMP: SAINT PAUL COMO PARK | INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Alistair Patison, St Paul Como Park, 16:50.0
RECAP: St Paul Como Park took home the team title with six athletes in the top ten including individual winner, Alistair Patison in a career best 16:50.0, his first sub 17-minute 5k. Como Park freshman Charlie Power-Theisen and junior Shukar Bati were second and third. Sophomore William Skelly of DeLaSalle broke up the Como Park perfect score with a fourth place finish followed by sophomore Soren Sackreiter of Como Park. DeLaSalle was team runner-up on the loop course at Pike Island.
GIRLS TEAM CHAMP: RICHFIELD | INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Ava Durand, Richfield, 21:20.0
RECAP: Richfield was led by sophomore Ava Durand taking the individual win followed by three more teammates in the top ten to earn the team victory. Junior Crystel Digrazia of Richfield was second followed by Saint Paul Humboldt eighth grader Willa Campion in third. DeLaSalle junior Sophie Dupont was fourth followed by sophomore teammate Mae Kennedy in fifth. DeLaSalle was also runner-up on the girls side as well.
