Did you encounter any struggles or adversity along the way that you had to overcome?

I've had to overcome mental toughness, because in the beginning of my high school and track career I've always succumbed to pressure and let that affect the way I performed. Also, I just needed to grow up and mature as a teammate and person. Nowadays, I wont let the pressure get to my head and just focus on the goals I set and perform like how I usually do and execute.

Aside from the competition, what was the best thing about being apart of Wayzata program?

Being apart of Wayzata Track and Field has helped me tremendously with finding my character, learning about leadership & teamwork, and how to overcome adversity not only on the track but in life as well. Track has also helped me develop new friendships and connections and following traditions that past athletes have done.

Are there any coaches or teammates that you've worked with over the past four years that you'd like to thank?

I would like to thank my Wayzata Track & Field Coaches & Teammates, my AAU Track Minnesota Elite club coaches & Teammates, and friends for supporting me and helping me become a better athlete, teammate, and person.

What are your plans and goals for the future? Do you intend on continuing with the sport in college or in another capacity?

I plan to run track at North Dakota State University.

What advice would you give to a younger athlete who's hoping to have a successful and enjoyable high school career?

Don't take life for granted, enjoy what you are doing and work hard in practice. There are no shortcuts in sports, so develop trust with your coaches and teammates. Have confidence in yourself too, and also think about the long term bigger picture about sports. Finally, don't let anybody tell you "you can't do it", and make smart decisions.
