Workout Wednesday Throwback: Zach Bradford's Pole Vault Work


Class of 2018 Bloomington (IL) graduate, Zachery Bradford vaulted 18 feet, 0.5 inches, to win the 2018 New Balance Nationals Indoor Meet. Bradford now competes for the University of Kansas where he's improved his indoor pole vault mark to 19-0.25 and his outdoor mark to 18-11.25. Orginal Write Up: Early in the season, we caught up with Zachery Bradford of Bloomington, Illinois. Bradford was still working indoors and was fresh off his 2018 New Balance Nationals Indoor Championship in the pole vault. Bradford vaulted 18 feet, 0.5 inches, and is one of only three US high schoolers to vault over 18 feet indoors. This outdoor season he tied for second at Texas Relaysvaulting 17-2withLee's Summit High School's(MO)KC Lightfoot. He was theIHSA Boys State Track & Field State Champion with a vault of17-6. His best vault of the season came at the3A Belleville West Sectional when he vaulted17-9.

This weekend he is entered in the USA Track and Field Junior Championships in Bloomington, Indiana. This will be one of his last shots to clear 18 feet outdoors before heading off to the University of Kansas in the fall. Check out his workout above.
