How does it feel to be voted Minnesota Boys Runner of the Week?

It feels great to be nominated runner of the week.

What kind of preparation has led to a season in which you have already posted multiple first-place finishes?

Apart from the regular summer training, I put a lot of effort into strength training as well.

Coming off of a team and individual win at the Apple Jack Invite, how do you and your team plan to keep the momentum going?

We hope to keep improving as a team so we can hopefully make it to state and place high.

What are some individual goals you have for the rest of the season?

Individually it would be really cool to be in the top 3 at state and also place high enough at NXR to make to NXN.

What does your team hope to accomplish by the end of the season?

Our team goal is to have everyone improve on their times and to hopefully get a podium finish at state

How does it feel to be voted Minnesota Girls Runner of the Week?

It is a great honor to be voted Minnesota Girls Runner of the week. It is an amazing experience and I am so grateful for this opportunity. I have so much support and this means the world to me.

What sort of training went into this season in which you have posted multiple first-place finishes?

The type of training I did was with my twin sister, Ashley Overgaauw. We push each other to become our bests. We ran lots and lots of miles this summer and it is really cool to see our hard work pay off too. We did different types of workouts and runs and I think that helped us. We also bike and kayak as cross-training. But it is really nice and fun to have someone close to you to compete and train with!

How have you been able to improve consistently over the course of your career?

I think I have been able to consistently improve over the course of my career through hard work and dedication. By also practicing and having a good attitude too. By running lots of miles and training as well too.

What are some goals that you have for the rest of the season?

Some goals I have for the rest of this season are to keep trying my best. To try and stay injury-free and healthy. To also stay consistent in my times and to do well and make it at state.

What are some goals your team has for the rest of the season?

Some goals my team has for the rest of the season are to grow as a team and become closer. Also to try our best and have confidence. Also to work hard and to have a great rest of the season!
