Aidan Jones of Minneapolis Washburn orchestrated his own historic season when he became the first state cross country champion from a Minneapolis school since Hassan Mead in 2006. Mead of course was the former state record holder and former Olympian. Not bad company to keep.
Jones ran a time of 15:11.73 to beat out a plethora of talented runners for the Class AAA state title this fall, entered into the top ten times for a Minnesota boy a week later with a time of 15:01.20 at the Team Heartland Regional, and then finished 14th overall at the CHamps Midwest Regional.
