Holman, Carney lead Auggies at Tommie Twilight

MEET RESULTS

ST. PAUL, Minn -- Sprinters Whitney Holman (SR, New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) and Ashley Carney (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) recorded top-four finishes in the 100-meter dash to lead the Augsburg College women's track and field team at the University of St. Thomas Tommie Twilight meet Wednesday evening. No team results were recorded.

Holman recorded a season best time of 12.52 seconds to finish in second place. Holman's time is currently ranked as the sixth-fastest among MIAC participants in the 100 this season. 

Carney registered a fourth-place finish in the 100, while recording a season-best time of 12.75 seconds. Carney's time is currently ranked eighth among MIAC participants this season. 

Both Holman and Carney also participated on the Augsburg 400-meter relay team, which recorded a second-place finish with a time of 49.41 seconds. 

Augsburg hurdler Caroline Senungi (JR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) recorded a third-place finish with a time of 16.00 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles. 

Pole vaulter Brittany Tuberg (FY, Apple Valley, Minn.) finished seventh in the pole vault, recording a height of 3.21 meters (10-feet-6.25)
 
Katie Vrieze (JR, Richfield, Minn.) recorded a season-best time of 26.65 seconds in the 200-meter event.

The Auggies are scheduled to participate in Saturday's Meet of the UnSaintly, hosted by Hamline University.
