The Minnesota throws scene is loaded with talent this season. From athletes dominating a single event to others putting up numbers across two or even all three throws, this group represents some of the best the sport and state have to offer.

Here's a look at the top boys and girls throwers to know right now.

Top Returning Throwers:

Adam Hanson (Rosemount):

Hanson sits at the top of the shot put field with a leading mark of 59-05.50. He's the name everyone else in that circle is measuring themselves against.

Alexis Fahey (Forest Lake):

Three events, three legitimate marks. Fahey leads the discus at 155-00, has thrown 41-10 in the shot put, and heaved the javelin 59-02 for good measure.

Howie Johnson (Forest Lake):

Johnson ranks 2nd in both the shot put (58-10) and discus (174-04). No other boy thrower in the state comes into the outdoor season with a two-event pedigree like that.

Jayda Kolstoe (Minnewaska Area):

Kolstoe's 2025-leading mark of 44-00 sets the standard in the field, but her 126-01 best in the discus means she's not giving up points in the second event either.

Tyler Curnow (Stillwater):

Curnow leads all returners in the discus at 177-00 and sits 4th in the shot put at 57-07. He could very well wind up in state title contention across both.

Sylvia Boyum (Stillwater):

Boyum's 42-08.50 in the shot put and 126-07 in the discus put her near the top of both events without a meaningful drop-off between them.

Carter Schwartz (Mankato East):

Schwartz ranks 5th in the shot put at 57-06.75 and 6th in the discus at 168-08, giving him one of the more consistent two-event profiles in the field.

Nina Thomas (Osseo):

Thomas's 130-04 in the discus is one of the stronger marks in the field, and her 40-0 in the shot put rounds out a two-event profile that makes her a legitimate a scorer in both rings.

Noah Cameron (Little Falls):

Cameron is a true specialist, and the top returner in the the javelin. With a best throw of 130-11.25, he's more than 11 feet clear of everyone else in the event.

Eva Welsch (Lakeville South):

Welsch is, likewise, a javelin specialist who looks poised to dominate the state. Her 98-08.25 from last year puts her in a category of her own in the event.
