Cross country finishes tenth at Blugold Invitational

Jessica Rogers
After a week off from racing, the Wildcats returned to the trails at the Blugold Invitational in Eau Claire, Wis.  Sophomore Jessica Rogers ran a personal best by over 20 seconds to lead the Wildcats to a tenth place finish.

Rogers covered the 6k course in 24:39, a 22-second personal best, to finish 49th overall.  Kristina Poss was ten spots behind in 59th, with a time of 25:07.  Renee Crepeau (25:59), Tamar Billiet (26:02), and Erin Coughlin (26:03) all crossed the finish within several seconds of one another to round out the top five.  Coach Henderson noted that "the women did a great job of working together early in the race and moving up as the race progressed," as demonstrated by the 3-4-5 runners finishing so close together.

The Wildcats scored 330 points to place tenth, besting several MIAC foes in the sixteen team field.  They host the St. Kate's Invitational next Saturday, October 9, at 11 am.
