Meet Recap: Swain Invitational

Swain Invitational Class A Results

Both Class A races were decided early with Sarah McMahon of Colfax winning the girls race and Brandon Clark of The Blake School winning the boys race.

Brandon Clark finally wins his first cross country race at the prestigious Swain Invitational after his 17th place podium finish (7th Minnesotan) at the Griak Invitational and two consecutive second places against top ranked Class AA runners (St. Olaf Invitational and the Redbird Invitational).      Jackson Lindquist of Esko finished second, running alone for most of the race as well.   The boys team race featured three teams ranked in the top 5 in the State; Plainview-Elgin-Millville, Minnehaha Academy, and Glencoe-Silver Lake.   They finished in the order of their ranking with PEM winning by 8 over Minnehaha and 45 over Glencoe.

The girls team race featured sixth ranked Blake and seventh ranked (Esko) with Blake winning the race; although Esko faced challenges with their multi sport athletes.    While McMahon of Colfax ran away with the race, the next four spots were Blake and Esko runners; Jordan Chancellor of Blake finishing second, Marisa Shady of Esko third, Clare Flanagan of Blake fourth, and Kailee Kiminski finishing fifth.   All four ran together for most of the race, with each taking a turn at leading the group during the race.
