MEET RESULTS
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Augsburg College's
Caroline Senungi (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) and
Haley Diem (SO, Stillwater, Minn.) both recorded first-place finishes as the Auggie women's track and field team opened their season at the University of St. Thomas Invitational Friday evening. No team results were recorded at the event.
Senungi, who ended last indoor season with the fourth-fastest time in the MIAC, finished in first place in the 55-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.79 seconds. In her Augsburg indoor debut, Diem claimed top honors in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:33.52.
Sprinter
Shanek Telphia (SO, Chicago, Ill./Gage Park HS) recorded two top-four finishes at the Tommie Invite, as she posted a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.38 seconds, and a fourth-place finish in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.57 seconds.
Augsburg's
Katie Vrieze (SR, Richfield, Minn.) and
Ashley Carney (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) also recorded personal-best times. Vrieze posted a career-best time of 7.65 seconds in the 55-meter dash preliminaries, en-route to an eighh-place finish in the finals, while Carney finished the 200-meter dash with a career-best time of 27.89. Carney's time was the 10th-fastest at the meet.
Augsburg pole vaulter
Brittany Tuberg (SO, Apple Valley, Minn.) recorded a second-place finish in her event, recording a mark of 2.95 meters (9-feet-8.25).
The Auggies return to action on Saturday (1/29) at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Warren Bowlus Invitational in Menomonie, Wis.
