MIAC TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College sprinter

At Saturday's Bethel Invitational, Telphia claimed event wins in the 55- and 200-meter dashes, with a 26.31-second effort in the 200 and a 7.56-second effort in the 55. She also placed second in the long jump with a personal-best 4.97-meter (16-feet-3.75) effort. The two sprint performances were season-bests for Telphia.
Telphia's 200-meter time is currently tops among MIAC women's competitors,
according to the Raceberryjam.com website. She also ranks second in the conference in the 400-meter dash (1:00.39), third in the 55-meter dash and eighth in the long jump. Her 55-meter time is just .26 of a second away from the NCAA's national championship provisional qualifying time of 7.30 seconds.
It's the second time Telphia has earned the MIAC weekly honor in her career, and also the second time an Augsburg women's track and field athlete has earned Track Athlete of the Week honors so far this season; hurdler
Caroline Senungi (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) earned the honor on Jan. 24.
Augsburg returns to action this Saturday (2/12) at 12 p.m. at the Carleton Meet of the Hearts in Northfield, Minn.
