Augsburg competes at Parent's Day Open

MEET RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College women's track and field team recorded six personal- and two season-bests at the University of Minnesota's Parent's Day Open on Saturday at the Minnesota Fieldhouse. No team results were recorded at the meet.

Sprinter Ashley Carney (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) recorded a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash, finishing with a personal-best time of 8.11 seconds.

Shanek Telphia (SO, Chicago, Ill./Gage Park HS) also recorded a top-three finish for Augsburg, as she finished third in the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 25.80 seconds. Telphia added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash, as she finished the race with a time of 59.62 seconds, as well as a 10th-place finish in the long jump competition.

Katie Vrieze (SR, Richfield, Minn.) also performed well for the Auggies, as she recorded a 10th-place finish in the 200-meter dash and a 12th place finish in the 60-meter dash. Vrieze's time of 26.85 seconds in the 200 and her time of 8.11 seconds in the 60-meter dash were both personal-bests.

Dawn Flowers (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Arlington HS) finished 18th in the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 27.42 seconds. Flowers also competed in the 60-meter hurdles, and finished with a personal-best time of 10.51 seconds.

Kacie Bahr (JR, Brainerd, Minn.) recorded two personal-best times for Augsburg, recording a time of 28.60 seconds in the 200-meter dash as well as a time of 1:03.40 in the 400-meter dash.

Augsburg returns to action Friday (2/25) as they travel to Northfield, Minn. to compete in the St. Olaf College Qualifier Meet.
