MEET RESULTS
ST. PAUL, Minn.--
Erin Leyden (SR, Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South HS) recorded a season-best finish in the women's hammer throw competiton to lead the Augsburg College women's track and field team at the Holst Invitational hosted by Concordia-St. Paul University this past weekend.
Leyden's distance of 40.59 meters (133-02) earned the senior thrower a fourth-place finish in the meet, and marked Leyden's top distance of the season. Leyden currently owns the eighth-best distance among MIAC participants in the hammer throw competition, and is on pace to qualify for the MIAC Championship Meet next month.
Also performing for the Auggies in the hammer throw were
Amy Wenzel (SO, Sun Prairie, Wis.) and
Andrea Heil (FY, Stillwater, Minn./Mounds Park HS). Wenzel, who recorded a distance of 23.61 meters (77-05) and Heil, who reached a distance of 21.91 meters (71-10), recorded season-best performances at the event.
The Augsburg track and field team will return to action Thursday (4/21) at the Hamline University Capitol City Championships in Saint Paul.
