Minnesota High School Track & Field: Late May Weekly Recap

Boys

Isaiah McKnight of Woodbury High School set a new personal best as he won the boys' 400m at the Suburban East Conference Championships. The junior broke 50 for the first time- clocking 48.65 to improve to #4 in the state.

In the 400m at the Big 9 Track and Field Championships, Jordan Gleason of Owatonna High School took the crown. The sophomore ranks #5 in the state over the 400m dash after he set a new lifetime best of 48.70. Gleason also won the triple jump in 45-2.5, the long jump in 22-9.5, and the 100m in 21.79 - all in lifetime best marks.

At the Suburban East Conference Championship, Tomi Animasaun of White Bear Lake High School set a new lifetime best mark in the 300m hurdles. As he took the victory, Animasaun clocked 38.53 and improved to #6 in the state.

Big Lake High School's Abraham Nebo Jr secured the title in the boys' long jump at the Mississippi 8 Conference Championships. The senior leaped a lifetime best 23-2, improving his previous mark by over a foot, and sits at #3 in Minnesota.

In the vertical jumps, O'Neal Attisso won the high jump at the Suburban East Conference Championships. The junior from Park cleared a lifetime best 6-8 to claim the victory and the #3 mark in the state for high jump.

Girls

In the 1600m, Carley LaMotte of Burnsville High School won at the South Suburban Conference Championships. The senior ran a state-leading mark and a new personal best of 4:46.32.

At the MSHSL Section 7A- North Sub-Section, Violet Udovich won the girls' 400m dash. In a new personal best, the sophomore from Ely High School clocked 54.95 and advances to #4 in the state this season.

In the 300m hurdles at the South Suburban Conference Championships, Eva Welsch won the event in a personal record. The senior from Lakeville South High School ran 44.05, improving to #9 in Minnesota. Welsh also won the high jump with a leap of 5-2 and finished runner-up in the 100m hurdles in 15.10.

Over at the jumps pit of the Suburban East Conference Championships, Maren Emery set new lifetime bests in both the triple jump and long jump. The freshman from Woodbury High School leaped 39-5 in the triple jump to take first and 17-7 in the long jump to finish runner-up. Emery ranks #2 in Minnesota for the girls' triple jump.

Lauren Klein won the half-mile at the Northwest Suburban Conference Championships. The senior from Centennial High School achieved a new personal best of 2:13.12 in the 800m to take the victory. Klein is ranked #6 in the state.
