Tri-Metro Conference Preview Race

The weather was 83 degrees and very humid making for a difficult race day especially since the runners had not experienced this heat and humidity for three weeks.

In the guys race, 2nd ranked Minnehaha Academy (5-6-7-11-18) edged 12th ranked Blake School (1-2-14-15-17) by 2 points.     Number one ranked Class A runner Brandon Clark from the Blake School ran alone after the first mile running 16:08 for the win.   The race was exciting for second place as senior Owen Duncan of the Blake School moved from fourth to second in the last mile with a finishing time of 16:59 edging senior Steven Zeller of Concordia (17:01) and senior Christopher Lawson of St. Anthony Village (17:03).   The remaining podium student-athletes in order were junior Luke Brown of Minnehaha Academy (17:12), junior Jacob Eggers of Minnehaha Academy(17:25), junior Mark Lind of Minnehaha Academy (17:29), junior Louis Wohletz of DeLaSalle (17:39), freshman Michael Destache of St. Paul Academy (17:44), and senior Michael Rosenberg of St.  Anthony Village (17:49).     Finishing 13th was freshman Evan Ferlic of MPA (brother of 2010 Class A State Champion).
