For many Class A athletes, last week was the final competition of the season as subsections were wrapped up. Most Class AA schools had their Conference Championships as well. But in all the action and and amazing performances, one stood out in particular - the surpassing of one of Minnesota's All-Time records. Two-time State triple jump champion Allyson Weiss of East Ridge achieved a leap of 41-2.25 at the Suburban East Conference Championships, just a half-inch longer than the ten year-old record held by Wayzata's Jordan Helgren. It's a record that has been in serious jeopardy for the past several years, but in breaking it, the future Stanford Cardinal can safely lay claim to being Minnesota's greatest high school triple jumper ever.
