Farmington's Justin Hyytinen has officially signed with the University of Minnesota for cross country and track and field. MN Milesplit had a chance to catch up with Justin to learn more about his choice, goals for the future and advice to younger runners.

The new Farmington boys cross country coach won’t be new at all to the distance runners who have competed for the track team over the last few years. Lisa Lippold, an assistant distance coach for the boys and girls track teams for the last three seasons, was recently announced as the successor to Keith Revels, who guided the Tiger cross country teams for five seasons. The Minnesota State High School League Track and Field State Tournament will be hosted at Klas Field on the Hamline University campus on June 10-11, 2011. On June 10th the meet will begin with the Class AA 3200 race, followed by preliminary heats in several events. Field events will also begin at 9am. The Class A athletes will take the field at 3pm closing with the finals in the 3200 meter run at 4:50 pm (girls) and 5:05 pm (boys). This also marks the first MSHSL State Track and Field Meet with wheelchair events. Below is a quick preview into each event by class.
