INDIANAPOLIS - Heather Kampf (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Craig Miller (Madison, Wisc.) will challenge for the USA 1 Mile Road Championship title Thursday in Minneapolis. The event is part of the USA Running Circuit and is hosted by the Medtronic TC 1 Mile for the fourth time.

Chris Beach graduated from Totino-Grace High School in 1998 without reaching the True Team track and field state meet.

Beach, a decathlete in college, took over the Eagles' boys' and girls' programs nine years ago and helped make track and field dreams a reality for a new generation. The girls have won four consecutive Class 2A True Team state meet titles. The boys won in 2006, 2009 and 2011.

Senior Derek Toso won three events and took a close second in another, scoring 71 of the Little Falls boys track and field team’s 456 points at Tuesday’s Section 8AA true team meet.

Nine Chanhassen High School records were broken at the Section 7AAA True Team Track and Field Meet Wednesday at Eden Prairie. The Storm, going up against the entire Lake Conference, finished fifth in the boys standings and sixth in the girls race. (via )

Finishing with 1,037 points, the Andover Huskies boys’ track and field team took home the top team trophy for the section 4AAA True Team track and field meet May 8 at Elk River High School. (via )

Entering the 2012 season, there wasn’t one Detroit Lakes’ girl trackster who knew what it was to compete in the State True Team meet, something which was a common feeling amongst the Laker squads of over a half a decade ago. That will now soon change. (via )
