Madison Schandelmeier is one of the most successful runners to come out of Section 3A. A six-time State-qualifier and three-tie section champion, Schandelmeier helped lead her Luverne squad to the State Meet four times and was their top runner in each competition. While never a State champion herself (she had a runner-up finish in 2014), she finished in the top twelve in Class A four times. Currently a freshman at the University of Minnesota, Schandelmeier elected to wrap up her running career upon her graduation this spring rather than continue competing in college.
