Although Nikki Swenson may only have one of the fifteen fastest Section 6A times since 1999, she is nevertheless undoubtedly the finest runner to come out of that section in recent memory.  Swenson won the Section 6A championships a total of four times for Lac qui Parle Valley, and went on to earn a total of nine state championships in her high school career (two in cross country, and seven in track). Swenson also had remarkable range, and may be the only Minnesota athlete ever to earn state titles in the 400m, 1600m, and 3200m at the same state meet, which she accomplished as a senior in 2007. She went on to have a very successful and memorable career for the University of Minnesota, helping the Gophers win several Big 10 team championships, and competing at nationals for either track or cross country a total of four times.
