Run, Write, Repeat: The Best of 2017

      1. All-Time Track Performances For Minnesota

Seniors Denzel Brown from Eden Prairie and Genuine Matthews from St. Francis  proved themselves ahead of the rest of the of the field this past spring as they swept the sprint events at State. Brown took the 100 and 200 meters, setting some ridiculously fast personal bests of 10.47 and 20.97. Matthews took the victory in the 400 meters, ending his high school career with PRs of 10.71, 21.88, and 47.42 in the 100, 200, and 400 meters respectively. Senior Jake Kubiatowicz won the discus at State by almost seven feet (his second state championship in the event), and his PR of 199-7 (just on the cusp of becoming the second Minnesota athlete to break 200 feet) separated him from the rest of the competition by some margin. Brown's 100m and 200m PRs, Matthew's 400 PR, and Kubiatowitz's discus best are all in the top three in Minnesota history.
