With range reminiscent of Donavan Brazier, AJ Green is somewhat of a wild card. Last fall, Green didn't fully round into form until the postseason. In fact, Green didn't win a race the entire year. That's likely due to the adjustment to longer races after a two year hiatus from cross country. In his opener, Green finished 13th at the St. Olaf Showcase in 16:31, before ending the year on a high note, taking eighth at State in 15:42. That improvement shows major upside for Green after another year of distance oriented training. Of course, Green is best known for his dominance in the 800m. After becoming the first boy to break 1:50 this spring, Green torched the field with his kick at the Brooks PR Invitational (in a major negative split). Watch out for that finishing speed this fall.
