Back to back fifth place finishes at XC State alongside consecutive top ten finishes at NXR during a sophomore and junior year should be enough to vault any runner into state title talk their final season. Brianne Brewster is exactly that runner. She's the third fastest returner in class AA (17:49.5 PR) and finished third in section 1AA the last two years behind only Fenske and Lauren Peterson. Fenske and Atkinson are the only returners who placed in front of Brewster at State last year and she beat them both at Griak in 2018 with a furious final 1k kick that placed her third in the Gold Race. While her 2019 track season did not produce a state berth she did improve her 800/1600/3200 PRs to 2:25.4/5:06.91/11:02.94. Keep your eyes on Brewster as no one has been closer to the front at XC State than her the last two years.
