Tenley Nelson has a quality resume in its own right that includes three trips to the XC State meet and three qualifications to the track State Meet in the 3200 including podium finishes as an 8th (5th) and 9th grader (6th) over her first three years of running. She closed the 2018 XC season on a roll, posting six straight sub 19-minute performances. That stretch included a Big South Conference title, a section 3A runner-up finish (behind Gehl), and a seventh place finish at state. She improved her time at the state meet by 16 seconds last year but could not improve on her 5th place result in the 2017 meet. That furious finish to the season produced a PR of 18:13.48 (6th among class A returners) and 47th place at NXR (18:41.8).
