LAKE CITY (NR)
Lake City may be the early favorite in section 1A and heads into this season looking for their fifth state meet appearance since 2014. The Tigers strength could be in their pack that features a 1-5 split of less than 30 seconds and just over a minute from first to seventh runners. Losing their top runner but having five returners who have run 17:17-17:45 means they need front to back improvement to compete beyond the section meet. Yet, if that pack can continue its growth along the same path that leader Reese Anderson has followed, improving almost 90 seconds in three years, Lake City will be a formidable team to watch late in the season.
